Welcome to the website of
The church of Christ assembling at Pisgah
We are the 100% non-denominational, 100% Bible based church whose only goal is to proclaim Christ so that every man and woman can be complete in Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:28). We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and it is our ONLY guide in religious faith. We therefore have no creed or catechism to present but accept Christ as our only creed and the Bible as God's inspired Word. We believe the truth is absolute and unchangeable. God's word is truth (John 17:17) and can save today as surely as in the first century if applied in the same way.
We assemble together on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7) to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23-26), to joy in His resurrection (John 20:1-10), to sing (Colossians 3:16), to pray (Philippians 4:6), and to hear the word of God (Romans 10:13-17).
We cordially invite you to our worship services and Bible studies. It is our prayer that you will consider the Pisgah church of Christ. May God bless you!

The GOSPEL of Jesus Christ

but ONLY unto a FINAL salvation
those who choose to HEAR, BELIEVE,

FAITHFULLY UNTO THE END !!

† IN MEMORY OF OUR DEAR DEPARTED †
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
2 Peter 1:10-11 ...brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ..

Our Baptistery indeed continues
to stand ready for all those
who choose to hear and obey

THE GOSPEL PLAN OF SALVATION
Why Do I Need It? Through God's grace He chose to create Man in His image. We are thus eternal beings like Him. Our time on Earth is temporal. Our physical lives are like nothing but a vapor which fades away very quickly as compared to the length of time of eternity, which is indeed forever and ever. The choices we make today on this Earth determine whether our soul's forever future will reside in either the eternal damnation of Hell or the everlasting life of Heaven. The Holy Bible tells us we will all stand one day before the judgement seat of Christ. He is the one and only decider and He shall determine our eternal fate on Judgement Day.
John 14:16 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
♦
What Must I Do? Simply follow the gospel message of salvation Jesus Christ brought to us after he established the New Covenant with Mankind through his life, death on the cross, burial and subsequent resurrection where he now sits on the throne at the right hand of our Father in Heaven, creator and Lord God of the entire universe. God has given us clear direction and instruction as contained within His Word within Scripture of the New Testament of the Bible. All that is necessary for one to be saved is to follow (obey) the Gospel Plan of Salvation which is summarized here:
1. Hear and Believe the Gospel;
2. Repent (turn away from) sins;
3. Confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God;
4. Be immersed in water for the remission of sins.
Once that 'old man of sin' is put to death in that watery grave of Baptism the faithful believer arises a 'new man' absolved of sin, having put on Christ in a 'new birth' to walk in His light and receive everlasting life eternal with Lord God our Father in the glorious paradise of Heaven.
♦
How Should I Understand The Gospel? When reading the Word of God from the Bible everyone's default first understanding of the verses within should absolutely be the literal meanings just as written. They should not be intentionally misinterpreted into twisted or partial meanings in order to better suit Man's individual thoughts and desires. Interpreting Scripture only in ways which support Man's separate doctrine from which he has developed into Christian based denominational (meaning separated) religions is wrong as there is only one doctrine in the New Testament of the Bible, and that is of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Nowhere in the Bible does it say "Join the Church of your choice" or that separated interpretations of its contents would still be okay in order for one to obtain eternal life and salvation. Instead the Bible clearly gives us but one doctrine and one church made up of those saved believers bought by the blood of Christ Jesus. Therefore we must not and cannot leave out or ignore essential aspects of the New Testament's singular biblical doctrine if we truly desire salvation.
2 Corinthians 4:1-4 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

How Should I Follow The Plan? To obtain true everlasting life it is essential that you follow the Bible's clearly stated salvation requirements. Completing each step in proper order is indeed a required prerequisite prior to proceeding to the next step. One simply cannot skip over a step or complete them out of order and still be saved. Prove to this unto yourself by diligently reading The Word of God in Scripture and you will find that true salvation is only obtained after your sins have been washed away by the blood of Christ. You contact the blood of Christ through immersion (baptism) in much water. Come Judgement Day we shall be judged by our Faith and our Works. The required first work of faith is to wash away thy sins.
Only after your sins have been washed away are you without spot and thus made acceptable to our Lord God in order to be able to receive His gift of eternal life.
The certainty of death, the need for salvation and how to obtain it using the Gospel Plan of Salvation is made evident and proved by the study and understanding of God’s Word, Truth & direction unto us. The Holy Bible exists because the Holy Spirit inserted God’s Word directly into the mind of the writers. It portrays God’s infallible Truth without contradiction. The Bible is of God and thus is indeed God’s Holy Word. Consider these following verses:
2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Matthew 10:32-33 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
John 3:5-7 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
♦
Can I Become Lost Again? Absolutely; by leaving his fold and turning back to sinful ways. However Jesus' blood will continue to cleanse transgressions of which the Devil may be able to force into your new life as long as you recognize and repent (turn away from) those sins asking for the Lord's forgiveness in prayer, thus making repeat baptisms unnecessary. But if you instead turn away from God, not walking in His light and again embrace sin then you have indeed again become lost (separated from God).
2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

PERSONAL BIBLE STUDIES
All those in our area who might be interested in learning more about the The Gospel (The Good News) of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior are please encouraged to contact us for a personal Bible Study with someone from our assembled congregation. Simply give us a call or email indicating that you have a Bible study request along with your preferred dates and times. One of us will soon respond in order to setup a study meeting. We typically would be happy to meet with you at the church building or perhaps even come to your home in order to study the good news with you. You are also of course always welcome to attend any of our regular weekly Wednesday evening 7 pm Bible study meetings at the church building and/or arrange to stay later or come early for additional personal studies.
Why Study The Bible? Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The Holy Bible is indeed God's actual inspired word as recorded by those He inspired to record His Word within the scriptural books and letters comprising the Holy Bible (see 2 Peter 1:20-21 and 2 Peter 3:16). The Word of God is Truth (see John 17:17). Our sincere desire is to help proclaim to all the world The Gospel of Jesus Christ (see Mark 16:15) and we do so having renounced the hidden things of dishonesty and so preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord (see 2 Corinthians 4).
